Cher, 79, reveals she 'manifested' boyfriend AE Edwards, 39, and his son into her life
Cher says she manifested her boyfriend and his young son

Music icon Cher has made a surprising revelation about the origins of her relationship with boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards, claiming she believes she manifested the rapper and his young son into her life.

A Surprising Admission on a Popular Podcast

The 79-year-old superstar shared this intimate detail during a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, hosted by Dax Shepard. Cher described her 39-year-old partner as "wonderful" and placed him in a rare category, stating he is one of only two men she has ever dated who she feels she truly deserved.

"Before I met him, I walked around my house saying, 'I want a man and a toddler,'" the Believe singer confessed. "I wasn't expecting them together, but that's what I wanted. I was expecting them separately."

Getting Exactly What She Asked For

Cher's manifestation seemingly came true when she began dating music executive and rapper Alexander Edwards just over three years ago. Edwards shares six-year-old son Slash with his ex-girlfriend, model Amber Rose, fulfilling Cher's wish for a toddler in her life.

The Grammy and Oscar winner has grown close to the youngster, recently taking him to see a production of The Lion King. She humorously recounted an incident where Slash told a security guard, "My dad's a psychopath!" after his father chased them, quickly clarifying with a laugh that he is not.

Cher praised Alexander's supportive nature, highlighting that he is secure in her fame and success. "Alexander is that way too," she said, responding to host Dax Shepard's comments about not being threatened by his own wife's success. "The more I shine, the more he has for him."

The Other Man She 'Deserved'

The only other man Cher equates with Alexander in terms of feeling she deserved him is music mogul David Geffen. She dated Geffen in 1973 towards the end of her first marriage to Sonny Bono.

Cher credits Geffen, now 82, with helping her escape what she described as an oppressive business arrangement with Bono, who controlled Cher Enterprises. In her memoir, she detailed a difficult marriage, alleging Bono "manhandled" her and once "seriously thought about" killing her.

Following her 1975 divorce from Bono, Cher married musician Gregg Allman just four days later. They had son Elijah Blue in 1976 before divorcing. On the podcast, she remembered Allman as "a kind, talented man that was a drug addict."

Despite past challenges, Cher maintains friendships with several ex-partners, including Geffen and Robert Camilletti, an aspiring actor she met in 1986 when he was a bagel baker.

Dismissing Wedding Rumours and Critics

Cher and Alexander have been together for over three years and live together at her Malibu mansion. While they enjoy glamorous outings, a spokesperson for Cher recently shut down reports of impending wedding plans, stating "there is absolutely no plans for a wedding in her future."

The denial followed speculation she might marry around her 80th birthday in May. Unfazed by their four-decade age gap, Cher has been vocal about her happiness.

Speaking to Gayle King last year, she said, "You know, you get older but your spirit is younger. I just love him." She dismissed online criticism of the age difference, adding, "They're not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us. We just have a blast."
