Hollywood stars Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner have reportedly established a fully settled domestic life together, with insiders describing their relationship as being akin to marriage. The couple, who have been romantically linked since April 2023, are said to be deeply committed and living as a family unit in Los Angeles.
A Private Life Made Public
According to a source speaking to Page Six, Chalamet and Jenner have been cohabiting for over a year. The insider revealed the pair are "obsessed with each other and always together," behaving as if they are "basically married already." This domestic harmony extends to Chalamet's involvement with Jenner's two children, Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, whom she shares with rapper Travis Scott.
This revelation follows a series of very public declarations of affection from the typically private actor. During his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Chalamet pointedly referred to Jenner as his "partner," thanking his parents and her for their support. The moment was underscored by Jenner gazing adoringly at him from the audience.
Strategic Displays of Affection
The narrative deepened just days later at the Critics Choice Awards, where Chalamet, after winning Best Actor, offered another heartfelt tribute. "And lastly, I'll just say, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you," he proclaimed. Jenner was visibly moved, mouthing "I love you, too" back to him from her seat. The couple also shared a kiss upon his victory announcement.
This sudden increase in public displays of affection (PDA) is seen by experts as a calculated move. Psychologist Darren Stanton suggests the couple is employing "social proof and relationship validation" to send a "very clear message" that their bond is "real, secure and intentional." He noted the timing at major events like the Critics Choice Awards ensures maximum media attention.
Relationship psychologist Dr Kathy Nickerson added that for high-profile figures like Jenner and Chalamet, a relationship is also part of their brand narrative. "When a celebrity relationship appears stable and affectionate, it tends to cast a positive light on both individuals, as well as their businesses and projects," she explained. The increased visibility acts as "reassurance signalling" to counteract speculation and control their public story.
Navigating Rumours and Privacy
The recent affectionate displays are particularly notable given that, just two months prior in November, reports swirled that Chalamet had ended the relationship. An insider at the time described them as being in a "cool-down cycle," taking a breather. Chalamet himself dodged questions about Jenner in a Vogue profile, flatly stating he "will not talk about" the romance.
Jenner has similarly guarded their privacy, telling British Vogue in 2024 that "privacy is so important to me." Despite being first linked in April 2023 and going public with a passionate kiss at a Beyoncé concert in September 2023, they have kept the relationship off social media and it is not discussed on her family's Hulu show, The Kardashians. It has been suggested that Chalamet's desire to be seen as a serious actor influenced this approach to privacy.
The couple's connection predates their public romance, having initially met as far back as 2019 at Nobu Malibu, introduced by mutual friend, designer Haider Ackermann. Despite the off-and-on rumours, their current status appears to be firmly on, with sources and their own actions painting a picture of a committed, domestic partnership.
