The 83rd Golden Globes: Nominations and Snubs
The star-studded ceremony, hosted for the second consecutive year by comedian Nikki Glaser, honoured the best in film, television, and, for the first time, podcasts. The epic film One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, led the nominations with an impressive nine nods, including Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay.
In the television categories, the Netflix hit Adolescence earned five nominations, with stars Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and 16-year-old Owen Cooper all receiving acting nods. The White Lotus narrowly surpassed it with six nominations, largely in the acting categories.
Notable snubs included Wicked: For Good missing out on a Best Musical or Comedy nomination, though stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were recognised individually. Sydney Sweeney was also overlooked for Christy in the Best Actress (Drama) category.
Dame Helen Mirren has already been announced as the recipient of the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, to be presented ahead of the main ceremony on January 8th.
