Country music star Blake Shelton has publicly addressed the swirling speculation that his marriage to pop icon Gwen Stefani is on the rocks. The 49-year-old singer expressed his astonishment at the persistent reports, which he described as a confusing rollercoaster for the couple.
"I Don't Believe Anything Anymore": Shelton on Internet Rumours
In an interview with Country Countdown USA, Shelton detailed how the rumours began. He first noticed articles in October or November 2024 claiming the pair had split and were divorcing. The singer joked about the absurdity of the situation, noting how a simple photo could flip the narrative entirely. "A week later a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store: 'Oh, they're back together again!'" he said. "And another week goes by and we're not seen at the grocery store: 'They're divorcing!'"
This constant speculation has led Shelton to lose faith in online content, especially due to the prevalence of doctored images. He admitted seeing convincing fake photos of himself and Stefani on social media. "I see pictures of Gwen and I... that I really go, 'That looks so real.' But I know I don't even own that shirt," he explained. The singer stated firmly, "I don't believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing."
A Decade Together That "Still Feels New"
Despite the rumours, Shelton painted a picture of a strong and happy union. The couple, who began dating in 2015 and tied the knot in 2021, celebrated ten years together in 2025. Shelton told People magazine that their relationship continues to feel fresh and exciting. "It honestly does [feel like time is flying by]," he said, reflecting on how quickly the years have passed. "10 years is a long time [but the relationship] still feels new for me."
He suggested this enduring novelty might be the secret to their contentment. "I feel like that might be the key to happiness, is that it feels just as exciting and new and happy," Shelton shared.
Collaboration and a "Miracle" Partnership
The couple's professional life also intertwines with their personal one. They collaborated on the track 'Hangin' On' for Shelton's 2024 album For Recreational Use Only. Shelton revealed they spend months discussing their musical partnerships at home. "We live together, so we walk around the house singing these songs all the time," he said. He noted that Stefani is more meticulous about lyrics, needing to see herself in what she sings, whereas he has sung about topics far from his own experience.
For Stefani, finding love with Shelton was a profound relief. In a 2024 interview with People, she described her split from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale after 19 years together as having crushed her dream of a lasting marriage. "God putting Blake in my life was just that miracle," she stated, allowing her to start her life over. Stefani shares three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—with Rossdale.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Stefani and Shelton for further comment.
