The final of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! airs on Sunday, and YouTube sensation AngryGinge is receiving a massive wave of celebrity backing as he vies for the crown. The 24-year-old, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, is the clear favourite with bookmakers, facing actors Shona McGarty, 35, and Tom Read Wilson, 39, in the last stage of the competition.
Celebrity Support Floods In For Jungle Finalist
Despite his already significant popularity, a host of well-known figures have thrown their weight behind AngryGinge's campaign. In a series of special video messages, stars from the worlds of entertainment and sport have publicly urged viewers to pick up the phone and vote for him.
Former Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing called Ginge a "superstar" and an "inspiration to everyone, especially the younger kids." Olympic legend Mo Farah declared, "He more than deserves to become a king of the jungle. He's inspired so many people - what a legend. I'm behind him, are you?"
The support extended to the airwaves, with Capital Breakfast presenters Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby sending their well-wishes. Fellow content creators also rallied, with KSI stating, "Let's get this man to No.1! He's absolutely smashed it in the jungle," and Chunkz adding, "Everyone, my people you have to vote for Ginge - that's the boy!"
The Final Three Face Gruelling Last Trials
Ahead of the winner's announcement, the three remaining celebrities undertook one last set of gruelling Bushtucker Trials to earn a luxury banquet for their final night in camp. A preview clip showed each confronting their fears in individual challenges.
Shona McGarty was locked in a box swarming with rats, tasked with loosening a star using only her tongue. Tom Read Wilson was presented with a solid chunk of pig's vagina to eat, with host Declan Donnelly joking it was his second encounter with the unusual ingredient during the series.
For his part, AngryGinge had his head enclosed in a glass bowl filled with thousands of bugs and had to reach into boxes containing lizards to retrieve stars. The trials typically consist of four stages, allowing each celebrity to win a starter, main course, dessert, and drink of their choice.
Shock Exit Paves Way For Final Three
The final day in camp followed the surprise elimination of rapper Aitch on Saturday, who finished in fourth place. The 25-year-old, who entered the jungle to raise awareness for Down Syndrome, was widely expected to make the final alongside his friend AngryGinge.
His exit sparked disbelief among fans on social media, with many expressing shock that he hadn't secured a top-three spot. Despite the disappointment, Aitch had an emotional reunion with his sisters, twins Gracie and Hattie, who had surprised him in camp earlier in the week. He was seen helping his sister Gracie, who has Down Syndrome, from a minibus upon his return to the contestants' hotel.
With the votes now open, the outcome rests with the British public. AngryGinge enters the final as the bookies' favourite at odds of 1/3, with Tom Read Wilson second at 7/2 and Shona McGarty at 7/1. The winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 will be revealed in Sunday night's live finale.
