The Truth About the Jungle Romance Rumours
Former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! contestant Alex Scott has set the record straight on the speculation surrounding a potential romance between fellow campmates, rapper Aitch and EastEnders star Shona McGarty. In an exclusive interview with the Mirror after her jungle exit on Friday, 29th November 2025, the TV presenter insisted that any suggestion of a budding relationship was completely inaccurate.
Scott explained that Aitch's admission of having a "soft spot" for Shona was born out of admiration for her personal growth, not romantic interest. "Shona has been through a lot before coming on the show," Alex revealed, "and it's allowed her to get rid of anxieties and insecurities she had about herself." She described witnessing McGarty transform into a "beautiful butterfly," a journey that resonated with everyone in camp, including Aitch.
Jungle Exit Heartbreak and Family Crisis
Beyond the campfire gossip, Alex Scott shared the profound personal challenge she faced while in the jungle. Her heart sank upon leaving the camp, realising that her partner, pop star Jess Glynne, was not waiting for her on the bridge.
This absence was due to a serious family emergency. Before Scott even flew to Australia, Jess Glynne's mother had suffered a major stroke and required urgent brain surgery. Alex confessed she agonised over whether to pull out of the show, but it was Jess who insisted she go. "It's been a tough time for us and obviously her family," Scott said quietly, "but Jess never wanted me to step away from not doing it."
She admitted the uncertainty was agony, stating, "I found that really tough in the jungle, not being able to speak to Jess every day and just check in." Instead of her partner, Scott was greeted by her close friend, Regan Coleman, with whom she shared an emotional embrace. Her first instinct was to immediately FaceTime Jess.
Winner Predictions and Lasting Friendships
Looking ahead to the finale, Alex Scott gave her prediction for who will be crowned King of the Jungle. She believes the title will come down to two fan favourites. "Personally, I think, from the public and how the trials have been going, it's going to be Ginge or Aitch between those two," she said, citing their strong fan bases and likeable personas.
Despite this prediction, she expressed a personal hope for a different outcome, adding, "I'd love for Shona to win, that would be a beautiful story."
Reflecting on her overall experience, Alex insisted she "loved every minute" of her time in the jungle. She praised the "special group of people" she was with, highlighting how they balanced humour with deep emotional support. "It feels like real friendships were formed," she concluded, cherishing the bonds created away from the cameras.
