Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a 'funny and honest' brother and son, who was tragically shot dead in a car near London Euston Station. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, leaving behind a devastated family and a community in shock.

Details of the Tragic Incident

Nahom Medhanie, aged 26, was pronounced dead at the scene on Chalton Street in Camden, north-west London. Emergency services were called after reports of gunshots at around 11pm on Saturday night. CCTV footage revealed that Mr Medhanie was shot multiple times while sitting in a white Nissan Juke. The attacker arrived and departed on a bike, making a swift escape.

Family's Emotional Tribute

Mr Medhanie's grieving family is being supported by specialist officers during this incredibly difficult time. In a moving tribute, they expressed their profound loss: 'Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us and since his passing it has been the hardest days of our lives.' They added, 'He was funny, honest and would just light up the room with his presence and that's what we loved most about him.'

Police Investigation Underway

Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police's specialist crime command are actively investigating the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke addressed the community's concerns, stating: 'We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community, and want to reassure them that we are working hard to identify the attacker and bring them to justice.'

She urged anyone with information to come forward: 'If anyone has any information that could help us, it is extremely important that they contact the police - either through 101, online or via independent charity Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.' The police have extended their thoughts to the young man's family.
