A six-year-old girl has tragically died and another child has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on a street in Paisley, Scotland. Emergency services were called to Johnston Street at approximately 5:30pm on Saturday, April 25, following reports of a serious collision.
Police Investigation Underway
Officers from Police Scotland have sealed off the road as they conduct an investigation into the incident. Authorities are now making an urgent appeal for witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dashcam footage that could assist inquiries.
The children were hit by a car on the street, and despite the efforts of paramedics, one of them, a six-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other child was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment; their condition has not been disclosed.
Appeal for Information
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Sergeant Michael Reid of the Road Policing Unit stated, 'This is a devastating incident, and our thoughts are with the families of the children involved. We are appealing to anyone who was in the Johnston Street area at the time to contact us.'
The road remains closed while forensic examinations are carried out. No arrests have been made, and inquiries are ongoing.
