A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after a brutal broad daylight stabbing at one of London's busiest transport hubs.
The shocking attack occurred at Victoria Bus Station on Tuesday afternoon, sending panic through crowds of commuters and tourists. Armed police and paramedics rushed to the scene following emergency calls at approximately 4:35 PM.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as the victim, believed to be a teenager, was discovered with serious stab wounds. Despite the busy location, the attacker managed to flee the scene before authorities arrived.
Urgent Police Manhunt Underway
The Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent manhunt for the suspect and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector James Harding confirmed they are treating this as a serious assault and are following several active lines of enquiry.
"This was a brazen attack at a busy time of day, and we believe there were numerous people who may have witnessed either the incident or the suspect fleeing," DCI Harding stated. "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have captured footage on their mobile phones."
Transport Hub Security Concerns
The incident has raised fresh concerns about security at major transport interchanges across the capital. Victoria Bus Station serves as a critical hub with connections to national coach services and local London buses, attracting thousands of passengers daily.
Transport for London officials have confirmed they are assisting police with their investigation and reviewing CCTV coverage from the area. A spokesperson expressed sympathy for the victim and his family while emphasising their commitment to passenger safety.
The investigation continues as forensic teams work at the cordoned-off crime scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
