In a case that seems ripped from a psychological thriller, a determined stalker employed a bizarre and chilling disguise to infiltrate his former partner's home and conceal himself beneath her bed.
Joshua Froggatt, 25, meticulously planned his invasion, donning a long, dark woman's wig to avoid recognition from neighbours and CCTV as he lurked outside the Nottingham residence. His objective was terrifyingly simple: to secretly enter the home and wait.
A Terrifying Discovery
The victim's ordinary day turned into a nightmare when she returned home and began to hear unsettling noises. The faint sound of rustling and breathing, initially dismissed, soon became undeniable. To her utter horror, she discovered Froggatt's legs protruding from beneath her bed.
Upon his discovery, Froggatt didn't attempt to flee. Instead, he allegedly tried to initiate conversation, asking her to join him on the bed before she managed to force him out of the house.
A Pattern of Persistent Fear
This bedroom intrusion was not an isolated incident but the climax of a prolonged campaign of harassment. The court heard how Froggatt had sent the victim a torrent of messages—over 100 missed calls and 50 texts in a single day—after their relationship ended.

At Nottingham Magistrates' Court, Froggatt faced the consequences of his actions. He was found guilty of stalking involving serious alarm and distress. The presiding magistrate did not mince words, labelling the offence "so serious" that it warranted a custodial sentence.
Froggatt was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison and handed a five-year restraining order, a measure hoped to finally grant the victim the safety and peace she deserves.
