A man has been formally charged with murder following the death of 41-year-old Samantha Luke in Carrington, in a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Daniel Tammas, 33, of no fixed abode, appeared before Manchester Magistrates' Court on Saturday, 14th September. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and address during the brief hearing.

The charges stem from a major police response on Friday evening. Greater Manchester Police were called to a residential property on Chapel Lane at approximately 7:30 PM. It was there they discovered the body of Ms. Luke.

District Judge Margaret McCormack presided over the hearing. Mr. Tammas was remanded into custody and is next scheduled to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday, 16th September.
