Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has posted a new workout selfie on social media, this time featuring Hollywood icon and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The image, shared on Thursday, shows the 72-year-old Health and Human Services secretary posing with the 78-year-old actor inside what appears to be Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California.
'Senior's Day, Gold's Gym in Venice,' Kennedy wrote in the caption, though the apostrophe was misplaced. The two men have been friends for years, and were once related through Schwarzenegger's marriage to Kennedy's cousin, Maria Shriver, which ended in divorce.
Last year, paparazzi captured the pair leaving the same gym alongside bodybuilder Ralf Moeller. Kennedy, a prominent vaccine skeptic who leads the Trump administration's 'Make America Healthy Again' initiative, has made headlines for unconventional workout videos. In February, the Department of Health and Human Services posted a montage of him exercising with musician Kid Rock at the rapper's Tennessee mansion. The clip showed a shirtless Kennedy in blue jeans and bare feet furiously pedaling a stationary bike and plunging into a cold tub.
During an April House Ways and Means Committee hearing, Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., accused Kennedy of suspending a pro-vaccine messaging campaign while 'spending taxpayer dollars to drink milk shirtless in a hot tub with Kid Rock.' Kennedy retorted, 'You've got a lot of misinformation there.'
Last year, Kennedy also appeared in videos doing pull-ups with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. Schwarzenegger, a moderate Republican who has opposed President Donald Trump and endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, said of Kennedy: 'I don't agree with everything policy-wise, but I like him as a human being. He's fantastic.' He added, 'So when I ran as a Republican and a Democrat like Bobby Kennedy helps me, I said to myself that I should always be there for him.'
