Girl, 12, Sexually Assaulted Twice in Central London

A shocking daylight sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl has sparked a major police investigation in the heart of London. The young victim was targeted twice within just 45 minutes on a busy street in Westminster.

The first assault occurred at approximately 3:45 pm on Saturday, 20th January, on Wilton Road, a thoroughfare near Victoria Station. The child was attacked again by the same individual shortly after, at around 4:30 pm, on the nearby Chicheley Street.

In a direct appeal to the public, the Metropolitan Police have released a clear CCTV image of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak to in connection with both incidents. The individual is described as a light-skinned male, believed to be in his early twenties, with dark hair.

Detective Sergeant Alex Pema, from the local policing team, emphasised the severity of the case: "We are supporting the young girl and her family as they try to come to terms with this horrific ordeal. This was a terrifying experience for a young child in a public place in the middle of the afternoon."

Officers are now conducting extensive enquiries, including a thorough review of local CCTV footage from the area. They are urging any witnesses, or anyone who recognises the man in the image, to contact them immediately.

This alarming case has raised serious concerns about public safety and the brazen nature of the attacks in a central London location. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference 01/243468/24, or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
