The family of a 51-year-old woman found seriously injured at a home in Leeds have paid a heartbreaking tribute to her, as police continue a murder investigation.
Gozia Wiktor was discovered at a property on Foster Square in Belle Isle on Thursday, June 11. She later died from her injuries. West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder probe, and a 52-year-old man arrested on suspicion of her murder has been released from hospital and is now in police custody.
In a statement released through the force, her family said: "It is so hard to find words when our hearts are filled with sorrow. It will be so difficult, and life will be so different, learning to live without you. We still cannot believe that we will no longer hear your laughter, see your smile."
They added: "You left far too soon, leaving behind an emptiness that nothing can fill. As a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, you were the heart of our family, a source of warmth, love, and joy."
The family said they were unable to say goodbye, concluding: "That is why we will not say 'farewell,' because we believe that love is stronger than death. Instead, we will simply say: 'Stay close.' Forever in our hearts and thoughts. Your loving family."
