Doctor's Harrowing Account of ICE Shooting in Minneapolis Reveals 'Repulsing' Aftermath

A physician has shared a chilling eyewitness account of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis, describing a "repulsing" act by officers after the killing that has sparked outrage and contradicted official statements.

Shooting During Immigration Protests

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, was fatally shot on January 24 during ongoing protests against ICE agents and the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigration. The incident occurred in broad daylight, with horrified onlookers reporting hearing a total of 10 gunshots as Pretti was wrestled to the ground by multiple agents.

Witness Contradicts Official Narrative

In a court document filed in federal court, a witness described as a physician stated they did not see Pretti show a weapon or attack the agents. "I saw him yelling at the ICE agents, but I did not see him attack the agents or brandish a weapon of any kind," the witness said. "Suddenly, an ICE agent shoved him to the ground. After a few seconds, I saw at least four ICE agents point guns at the man and shoot him at least six or seven times."

This testimony directly contradicts the Department of Homeland Security's claim that federal immigration agents fired in self-defence, alleging Pretti was in possession of a handgun. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara noted that Pretti was believed to be a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry, but there is no evidence he intended to harm officers during the protest.

'Repulsing' Aftermath Described

The doctor recounted attempting to treat Pretti's injuries without assistance from the ICE agents, who instead engaged in what was described as a disturbing post-shooting act. "I was confused as to why the victim was on his side, because that is not standard practice. Checking for a pulse and administering CPR is standard practice. Instead of doing either of those things, the ICE agents appeared to be counting his bullet wounds," the health care practitioner added.

Witnesses claimed that after the shooting, ICE agents stepped away from Pretti's motionless body rather than making any attempt to revive him, further fueling allegations of misconduct.

Remembering Alex Pretti

Alex Pretti is remembered as a "good man" who spent his last moments trying to protect others before being shot by a masked ICE agent at close range. The incident has intensified scrutiny over immigration enforcement tactics and raised questions about accountability in such confrontations.

As the community grapples with the loss, this eyewitness account adds a critical layer to the ongoing investigation, highlighting discrepancies between official reports and ground-level observations in a case that continues to reverberate across Minneapolis and beyond.
