Bolton Murder Victim Gloria De Lazzari Remembered as 'Pure Soul' by Grieving Family
The family of a woman whose death is being treated as murder have paid a moving tribute to her after police formally confirmed her identity. Gloria De Lazzari, a 45-year-old Italian national who lived in Bolton, Greater Manchester, has been named as the woman found deceased at a flat on Kempton Gardens earlier this week.
Tragic Discovery in Bolton Flat
Greater Manchester Police officers discovered Gloria's body at a property on Kempton Gardens, near Halliwell Road in Bolton, at approximately 10am on Monday, January 19. The discovery followed a concern for welfare report that prompted police attendance at the address. The location has since become the focus of a major police investigation into what detectives are treating as a murder.
Family's Heartbreaking Tributes to 'Devoted Daughter'
In an emotional tribute released through police, Gloria's mother described her daughter as "a fantastic person and a devoted daughter" who was deeply family oriented. "I always looked forward to her visits to me in Italy, where we loved spending time together outdoors and going on long walks," she said. "She always made an effort with me. She will be missed beyond words."
Gloria's ex-husband provided a particularly poignant tribute, describing her as "a great lady with a pure soul and a gentle, compassionate heart." He continued: "She was always available to help others and never held a bad thought for anyone. Her kindness, humility, and selflessness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She carried grace in her actions and warmth in her words, leaving behind memories filled with love and goodness."
The tribute concluded: "Gloria was truly a lovely lady, and her absence will be deeply felt by all whose lives she brightened. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her kindness live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind."
Murder Charge Following Arrest
James Morton, 33, of Kempton Gardens in Bolton, was arrested on Monday in connection with Gloria's death. He has since been charged with her murder and was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court. The legal proceedings mark a significant development in what police describe as a complex and sensitive investigation.
