Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 70s died following a collision with a car in Cheam, south London. The incident occurred on Belmont Rise just after 11am on Saturday.
Collision and emergency response
Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died later that evening. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries. No arrests have been made.

Detective Constable Caroline Landy, from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of victim at this extremely difficult time. As we try to build up a full picture of the incident, we want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”
