Train passengers across southern England have been warned of major disruption for the rest of the day following a fault with a radio system that affects communication between train drivers and signallers.
Affected Operators
The affected train operators include CrossCountry, Gatwick Express, Great Western Railway, London Overground, Southern, South Western Railway, and Thameslink. Services on these networks may experience delays of up to 45 minutes or face cancellations.
National Rail Statement
National Rail Enquiries confirmed that the issue relates to the radio system used by drivers and signallers to communicate. In a statement, they warned passengers: “Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
Passengers are advised to check their journey before travelling and allow extra time for their trips. Alternative routes may be available, but significant delays are likely across the network.
