Spain's largest theme park, PortAventura World, is set to debut two brand-new family zones this summer, offering exciting experiences for visitors of all ages. The popular destination, beloved by British tourists, will unveil Coral Bay, a pirate-themed water attraction, and Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek, a tropical jungle adventure area.
Coral Bay: A Pirate-Themed Water Paradise
The new 6,000 square meter Coral Bay zone will feature the Cyclone watercoaster, the second of its kind in the world and the first to open in Europe. This thrilling ride promises an exhilarating experience for water park enthusiasts. Additionally, Bahia Pirata will be introduced as the world's first multi-adventure pool, offering a variety of interactive water activities. The Crab, a multi-slide tower, allows riders to choose from five different routes, while Splash Port provides a safe water splash zone for younger children. For dining, El Bucanero will serve as the park's new food and drink spot, offering refreshments and light bites.
Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek
Beyond the water attractions, guests can explore the Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek, which transforms the existing Polynesia section into a tropical-themed zone inspired by lush jungle landscapes. Stretching 135 meters, the open-air course features climbing challenges and structures modeled on volcanic rock formations. The area includes 18 treehouse cabins with rope tunnels, net ladders, and slides, catering to all age groups.
Both attractions are scheduled to open this summer, adding to the park's extensive lineup of rides and shows. A recent visitor told the Sun Travel: "Even my too-cool-for-school teens were wowed. While the big thrill rides understandably grab the headlines, younger families are well provided for with a huge schedule of themed entertainment shows, tea cup rides, log flumes, and mini rollercoasters."
