Shocking footage has emerged showing the moment passengers were forced into an emergency evacuation on the tarmac of Manchester Airport, following a severe security threat from an allegedly disruptive passenger.
The incident, which occurred on a TUI flight bound for Dalaman, Turkey, escalated rapidly when a male passenger became aggressive and made direct threats towards the aircraft's cockpit. Eyewitnesses reported that the individual threatened to 'take control' of the plane, prompting the crew to initiate immediate emergency protocols.
Chaos on the Tarmac
Video taken by fellow travellers shows a scene of utter confusion as people are ushered down inflatable slides onto the runway. Cabin crew can be heard shouting 'Leave everything! Get out!' as the urgency of the situation unfolded.
Armed police and airport security vehicles swiftly surrounded the Boeing 737, with officers boarding the plane to detain the individual. The passenger was later arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft.
