Guinness Opens New London Brewery Experience in Covent Garden
New Guinness Brewery Experience Opens in London

Beer enthusiasts and fans of the iconic Irish stout have a major new reason to visit the capital, as the Guinness Open Gate Brewery prepares to open its doors in the heart of London.

A New London Landmark for Guinness Fans

Tickets for the highly anticipated attraction went on sale on Wednesday, 12 November, offering the public a chance to secure their spot at the 54,000 square-foot venue located in Old Brewer’s Yard, Covent Garden. The official opening is scheduled for Thursday, 11 December.

This new venture arrives at a perfect time, riding a wave of renewed interest in the brand following the recent release of the popular Netflix series, House of Guinness. The show has captivated audiences with its dramatisation of the 19th-century dynasty, and now fans can immerse themselves further in the world of the black stuff.

What to Expect from the Guinness Experience

The London outpost promises a multi-sensory journey for visitors. Key features include:

  • Microbrewery Tours: Guests can explore the working brewery and learn about the craft.
  • Immersive Heritage Experience: The attraction will tell the story of Guinness's historical connections to the Covent Garden area.
  • Beer Tastings: Visitors can sample a rotating selection of limited-edition craft brews and seasonal specials, which will include non-stout varieties and low-alcohol options.
  • The Perfect Pour: A dedicated area will allow guests to master the famous "surge and settle" technique for pouring the perfect pint.

It is important to note that while there will be plenty of Guinness available, the famous stout itself will not be brewed on-site but will be imported directly from the historic St James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin.

Fine Dining and Accessible Bars

Beyond the brewery tours, the complex will host several new restaurants, elevating it from a simple tourist stop to a culinary destination. Chef Pip Lacey, formerly of Hicce and the Michelin-starred Murano, will helm two establishments.

Gilroy’s Loft, a rooftop restaurant named after the brand's famous illustrator, will specialise in British coastal produce, including freshly shucked oysters. The Porter’s Table pays homage to the market's history and will be accompanied by a ground-level courtyard bar featuring handmade pies by London's "pie king", chef Calum Franklin.

Crucially, the bars and restaurants will be accessible to all visitors, whether they have booked a brewery tour or not.

Ticket Information and Pricing

Tickets are available directly through the official website. Pricing is tiered, with off-peak tickets starting from £30 per person and peak tickets priced at £40. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, an elevated tasting session will be introduced in February 2026. This premium offering, running at 3pm from Thursday to Saturday, will cost £95 per person.

Deb Caldow, Guinness’s marketing director, expressed her excitement, stating: "The Guinness Open Gate Brewery London has been years in the making, and we’re thrilled that the moment has almost arrived. We can’t wait to welcome Londoners and visitors from around the UK and the world."

This London attraction marks the third of its kind for the brand, joining the established brewery experiences in Baltimore, USA, and the flagship storehouse at St James’s Gate in Dublin, where the brewing empire began in 1759.
