A Jet2 passenger who demanded £300 in compensation after her tattoo was allegedly ruined by a sunburn has received a brilliantly sarcastic response from the airline – and the internet is loving it.
The unnamed traveller claimed her fresh ink was damaged during a flight because she fell asleep by the window and got sunburnt. She argued that Jet2 should have warned passengers about the risks of sitting near the sunlit side of the plane.
However, the airline’s customer service team delivered a legendary clapback, pointing out that they ‘aren’t responsible for applying your suncream’ and suggesting she ‘pays extra for a seat with less sunlight next time’.
The exchange quickly went viral, with social media users praising Jet2’s no-nonsense approach. Many joked that the passenger’s logic was as ‘faded as her tattoo’.
While some sympathised with the woman’s frustration, others questioned why she didn’t take basic precautions to protect her new body art. Tattoo artists recommend avoiding direct sunlight on fresh ink for at least two weeks to prevent fading and damage.
Jet2 has not commented further on the incident, but their sharp-witted reply has certainly won them plenty of fans online.
