Easter Holiday Hotspots: Four Sunny Destinations Under £800 Per Person
Four Sunny Easter Holiday Destinations Under £800

Finding the perfect holiday destination that combines good weather, sandy beaches, and excellent value for money can often feel like an impossible task, especially when planning a trip abroad. With the Easter holidays fast approaching in March, many families and travellers are actively searching for sunny and affordable options to escape the chill. Fortunately, new research from Travel Supermarket has identified exactly where to find these ideal getaways, naming four specific locations that offer both heat and budget-friendly prices.

The Sweet Spot: Warmth and Affordability Combined

According to Travel Supermarket's latest findings, holidaymakers can secure a good-value getaway in destinations across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco without breaking the bank. The research highlights four spots that fall under the £800 per person price range while also hitting what experts call the 'sweet spot' of boasting warm temperatures over 20°C. These destinations provide the perfect balance for those seeking sun and savings during the Easter break.

Top Picks for Easter Holidays

The Algarve, located in Portugal's southernmost region, emerges as a standout choice for catching some sun without splashing too much cash. With an average price of just £520 per person and average highs of 21°C in March, it offers impressive affordability and comfort. Chris Webber, head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, notes, 'The Algarve in particular is a standout - it's the most affordable option and still comfortably clears the 20°C mark, which for late March is genuinely impressive.'

Lanzarote follows closely, offering slightly warmer temperatures of 23°C at an average cost of £758 per person. Over in Morocco, Agadir provides highs of 24°C for £765 per person, making it another attractive option. Fuerteventura rounds out the list with average highs of 22°C and a price tag of £800 per person. Webber emphasises, 'For families with the Easter holidays starting in March, temperature really does matter - nobody wants to book a beach holiday and end up reaching for a jumper. These four destinations are the ones where the maths works on both fronts.'

Alternative Options for Different Budgets

For travellers who prioritise saving money and don't mind cooler temperatures, there are destinations available for around £500 per person. Menorca, for example, sees average temperatures of 15°C in March but costs just £436 per person. Costa Dorada offers almost as much warmth as the 'sweet spot' locations at 19°C, priced at approximately £472 per person.

On the other end of the spectrum, if money isn't a primary concern, there are pricier destinations with even warmer temperatures. Tenerife boasts balmy highs of 21°C at £839 per person, while its Balearic neighbour Gran Canaria averages 22°C for £876. Marrakech provides very warm temperatures of 25°C at a cost of £819 per person, offering a luxurious alternative for those willing to spend a bit more.

This research underscores that with careful planning, holidaymakers can find destinations that meet both their climatic and financial needs, ensuring a memorable and comfortable Easter getaway without overspending.
