easyJet has issued a 48-hour alert to millions of potential holidaymakers as it launches a major new way to book flights. The airline has introduced a new booking filter called 'Drop Everything', designed for spontaneous travellers.
In a post on its official Instagram page, easyJet explained how people can 'swap the everyday for some serious spontaneity'. A video further clarified how and why people will be able to use its new booking filter. A woman, dressed in easyJet's signature orange, delivered some 'breaking news'. She said: 'Drop Everything is officially launched and it's never been easier to catch flights within the next 48 hours'.
The humorous video added that 'people are being overtaken by the sudden urge to abandon their day to day lives immediately'. easyJet describes Drop Everything as 'the spontaneous urge to travel'.
How the New Filter Works
easyJet's 'inspire me' page now includes a new filter highlighting flights departing in the next 48 hours, 'making it even easier to book a last minute spontaneous getaway'. At the time of publication, return flights within the next two days from London Luton start at £65.98 per person to Majorca.
The cheapest flights from other London airports include:
- London Stansted - £68.98 to Edinburgh
- London Southend - £71.98 to Ibiza
- London Gatwick - £85.21 to Faro
Travellers can also select one-way flights if they wish.
Additional Options and Budget Settings
For return flights, passengers can use a filter to choose how long they want to stay: a few days, a week, or more than seven nights. They can also enter their budget and select a 'trip type', including options such as beyond Europe, off the beaten track, and 'sand, sun and swim', among many others.
