A reporter from Wales Online has shared his experience of visiting Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer's Dog, in West Oxfordshire. Steffan Rhys, a self-confessed fan of the Amazon Prime series Clarkson's Farm, travelled to the pub about 10 miles south of Clarkson's Chipping Norton farm. He booked a table for Sunday lunch after watching the first three series, but admitted he had not yet seen series four, which focuses on the pub's opening.

Rhys said he wished he had watched the latest series before visiting, as it revealed the pub's colourful backstory. The former Windmill pub was reportedly a known 'dogging' site, with evidence including holes drilled between cubicles in the public toilets and a condom wrapper found on the premises. Clarkson was left 'with his head in his hands' when his lawyer broke the news, according to the show.

Upon arrival, Rhys was stunned by the scale of the operation. He described a 'full-blown security and parking operation' guiding visitors into an enormous field, with 'hundreds, if not thousands' of cars already parked. The crowds were larger than he expected, given the previous controversy over visitors clogging local roads near Clarkson's farm shop.

Despite the initial shock, Rhys appreciated the effort that went into transforming the pub. He noted that a large part of the site was designated a public picnic area, which the owner could not restrict access to, adding to the challenges overcome. The pub has been open for around 10 months and continues to attract queues of visitors.
