Television personalities Amanda Holden and Alan Carr have discovered their own slice of Spanish paradise, acquiring a breathtaking villa nestled in the Andalusian hills near Granada that promises to be their perfect Mediterranean escape.
A Shared Dream Realised
The Britain's Got Talent judge and celebrated comedian, both 53, have transformed a long-standing friendship into a joint property venture, purchasing what they describe as their "happy place" in the traditional Spanish village of Moclín.
"We've found our little piece of heaven," Holden revealed during an appearance on ITV's This Morning. "It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen."
Andalusian Charm Meets Modern Comfort
The property embodies authentic Spanish architecture while offering all the comforts expected by two of Britain's best-known entertainers:
- Traditional whitewashed walls characteristic of the region
- Expansive terraces with panoramic mountain views
- Multiple outdoor dining and relaxation areas
- Private swimming pool overlooking the picturesque landscape
- Lush gardens filled with native olive and citrus trees
From Friendship to Property Partners
The decision to purchase together came naturally to the long-time friends. "We've been trying to go on holiday together for about 15 years," Carr explained. "Life always got in the way, so we thought why not just buy a place together?"
Holden added: "We're like an old married couple. We finish each other's sentences and bicker over cushion choices, but it's been the most wonderful adventure."
The Allure of Authentic Andalusia
Located approximately 30 minutes from the historic city of Granada, their villa offers the perfect balance between rural tranquility and cultural accessibility. The region is renowned for:
- The magnificent Alhambra Palace and Generalife gardens
- Traditional tapas culture where drinks come with complimentary food
- Stunning Sierra Nevada mountain scenery
- Authentic flamenco performances in local caves
- World-class skiing just an hour from the coast
The property has already become a cherished retreat for both families, with Holden's husband and children, and Carr's partner frequently enjoying the Spanish sunshine in what they consider their second home.
This Spanish property venture marks a new chapter for the television stars, proving that sometimes the best investments are those made with dear friends in places that capture your heart.
