EasyJet has issued a 48-hour alert to millions of prospective holidaymakers as it unveils a major new method for booking flights. In a post on its official Instagram page, the carrier explained how travellers can 'swap the everyday for some serious spontaneity', with a video further outlining how and why customers will be able to utilise its new booking filter.
A woman, dressed in easyJet's signature orange, delivered some 'breaking news'. She explained: 'Drop Everything is officially launched and it's never been easier to catch flights within the next 48 hours'. The lighthearted video went on to suggest that 'people are being overtaken by the sudden urge to abandon their day to day lives immediately'.
Drop Everything is described by easyJet as 'the spontaneous urge to travel'. EasyJet's 'inspire me' page now features a new filter showcasing flights departing in the next 48 hours, 'making it even easier to book a last minute spontaneous getaway'.
At the time of publication, return flights within the next two days from London Luton start at £65.98 per person (to Majorca). The most affordable flights from London Stansted, London Southend, and London Gatwick begin at £68.98 (to Edinburgh), £71.98 (to Ibiza), and £85.21 (to Faro), respectively. Passengers can also opt for one-way flights if they prefer.
When searching for return flights, a handy filter allows you to choose whether you wish to return within a few days, stay for a week, or extend your trip beyond seven nights. Travellers can also input their budget and select a 'trip type', with options ranging from destinations beyond Europe and off-the-beaten-track adventures to 'sand, sun and swim' getaways, among many other choices.
