A TikTok user has revealed the existence of a 'secret supermarket' known as Company Shop, which offers heavily discounted prices exclusively for individuals on Universal Credit and other means-tested benefits.
In a viral video, @rhianonelizabeth showcased the savings, including bottles of Prime for just 75p, Robinsons Jelly Pots at 35p (compared to 65p), and Sunpat Peanut Butter Spread for £1 (down from £2.80). She also spotted Cadbury chocolate icing for £1 and highlighted a range of branded goods costing between 40p and 50p.
The shop, which operates under strict membership criteria, states on its website that it offers membership to those in receipt of a means-tested benefit who live locally. It may also limit the number of products customers can buy each day to ensure all members benefit from the deals.
Beyond groceries, Company Shop stocks skincare brands like Nivea and C-Lab, and features a frozen food section. The café on site offers free kids' meals, with jacket potatoes and beans available for £1, according to the TikToker.
