Retail and manufacturing mogul Touker Suleyman has announced he is leaving the BBC's Dragons' Den after more than a decade, with his final episodes set to air later this year. The 72-year-old entrepreneur shared on Instagram that he has made the decision to step down from the show, describing his tenure as ten extraordinary years as a Dragon.
Why is Touker Suleyman leaving Dragons' Den?
Suleyman explained that stepping back will give him more time to mentor the entrepreneurs he has invested in and to share the 50 years of business experience he has accumulated. He believes great institutions must evolve, and it is time for new blood to take his seat in the Den. His departure marks the end of a decade-long journey that began in 2015.
Tributes from fellow Dragons
Fellow Dragons Sara Davies and Peter Jones paid tribute to their colleague. Davies called him the most amazing dragon, while Jones praised his incredible contribution to the show. Viewers also expressed their admiration, with many saying the programme will not be the same without the retail mogul who quickly became a firm favourite with BBC audiences.
The final episodes featuring Suleyman will air later this year, concluding his 11-year run on the popular business investment series.
