High street giant Primark has confirmed its festive trading plans, revealing that some of its nearly 200 UK stores will close for up to two days during the Christmas and New Year period.
Key Festive Opening Dates Confirmed
Shoppers can breathe a sigh of relief as Primark has confirmed that all of its UK branches will be open for business on key shopping days. This includes Christmas Eve, December 24, as well as Boxing Day, December 26, and New Year's Eve, December 31.
However, the retailer noted that some stores will shut their doors on New Year's Day, January 1. The company also highlighted that trading hours on Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day may differ for stores in Northern Ireland compared to the rest of the UK.
Check Your Local Store Times
A Primark spokesperson urged customers to verify their local branch's specific schedule, stating: "The opening hours of our UK stores will vary by store over the festive period, so shoppers should check their local store times on our website to plan their visits."
This advice is particularly important for those hoping to make the most of the post-Christmas sales, as opening times can vary significantly between locations.
How Other Retailers Are Operating
Primark is not alone in adjusting its operations for the holidays. Other major retailers have also announced their festive closure plans:
- Home Bargains will close all UK outlets on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
- Aldi has confirmed it will halt trading on the same three days.
- Lidl revealed that most of its UK supermarkets will close for three days, with all stores shut on Christmas Day. The majority will also close on Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Lidl further specified that all branches outside the M25 will be closed on New Year's Day, while most stores outside London and Wales will shut on Boxing Day.
With the festive season fast approaching, shoppers are advised to plan their visits carefully to avoid disappointment, especially during what is expected to be a bustling period for the popular high street retailer.
