Halo Capsule X Vacuum Review: A Compact Powerhouse That Outshines the Dyson V15

The Halo Capsule X, the latest cordless vacuum from Halo, has been put to the test in a busy family home and has emerged as a serious contender against the Dyson V15. Priced from £249.99, it offers several upgrades over the original Halo Capsule, including a larger dustbin, LED headlights, and HEPA filtration.

Weighing just 2.6kg, the Capsule X is 500g lighter than the Dyson V15, making it easy to manoeuvre with one hand. Its carbon fibre construction feels smooth and stylish, while the 2-litre dustbin is integrated into the design, saving space and preventing blockages. The bagged system also minimises contact with dust.

During a month-long test in a home with four young children, the Capsule X performed admirably on wood, laminate, and carpeted floors. The motorised floor head effectively cleaned deep-pile carpets, a challenge for many cordless vacuums. The updated soft roller made quick work of hard floors, and the LED headlamps helped spot dirt under furniture.

The HEPA filter, absent in the original Capsule, provides an extra layer of protection for allergy sufferers. While its impact is hard to measure, it offers reassurance that dust and allergens are being captured. The vacuum's 185AW suction is on par with bulky uprights, and it charges relatively quickly.

Overall, the Halo Capsule X proves to be a worthy investment for those seeking a lightweight, powerful, and feature-rich cordless vacuum. Its performance rivals that of the Dyson V15, and in some aspects, such as weight and dustbin capacity, it surpasses it.
