Evans Returns to UK High Streets After Six-Year Absence

Evans, the iconic British plus-size womenswear brand, is making a return to the high street after closing all its physical stores six years ago. The brand, which once had hundreds of locations across the UK, shut down its standalone shops in December 2020 following the administration of its parent company, Arcadia Group. However, it will now operate as concessions within 35 Yours Clothing and M&Co stores nationwide.

History of Evans

Established in 1930, Evans became known for its high-quality women's clothing for sizes over 14. For almost 100 years, it served loyal customers across Britain, but the pandemic and Arcadia's collapse forced it to cease physical operations. It transitioned to an online-only model and was acquired by AK Retail in 2023, which also owns Yours Clothing and M&Co.

New Concession Locations

The concessions will be located in 35 stores across the UK, including key Scottish sites: The Plaza in East Kilbride, Braehead Shopping Centre near Glasgow, and The Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling. Other locations include Belfast, Bluewater, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, and Swansea.

Yours Clothing stated: "Plus-size women are among the most loyal fashion shoppers in the UK. When a brand gets it right – when the fit works, the range is genuine, and the product reflects real women, they come back. Evans earned that loyalty over decades. And when the brand reduced its high street presence, its customers did not stop looking."

The move aims to bring Evans back to physical retail, offering its specialized plus-size range alongside Yours Clothing's own collections.
