Morrisons has reduced the price of a one-litre bottle of Baileys to £11, offering a saving of £3 compared to its usual £14 price tag. The deal is available until Sunday, November 2 in England and Wales, with no loyalty card required.
In comparison, the same size Baileys currently costs £13.98 at Asda, £22 (£14 with a Nectar card) at Sainsbury's, and £22.50 (£14 with a Clubcard) at Tesco. Last year, Morrisons offered Baileys at £8.50, but only for Morrisons More members who spent at least £45.
The price drop comes as Morrisons prepares to convert hundreds of corner shops into its own branded convenience stores. The grocer plans to launch 250 new Morrisons Daily stores next year through a franchise model, targeting areas where it has limited presence, such as cities in the south and the Midlands.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: 'Over the last few years we've built a significant business of over 1,700 stores and we have ambitious plans in place to bring Morrisons Daily to more customers across the UK with a franchise model that enables us to add new stores faster, in a capital-light way.'
Meanwhile, the supermarket is closing 103 stores, cafes, florists and pharmacies this year as part of a restructure. Chief Executive Rami Baitiéh said: 'Although these changes are relatively small in the context of the overall scale of the Morrisons business, we do not take lightly the disruption and uncertainty they will cause to some of our colleagues.'
