Met Office: UK to Hit 25C Next Weekend After Rain

The Met Office has issued its verdict on when temperatures will rise across the UK, with forecasts suggesting the country could bask in 25C warmth within days. However, before the pleasant weather arrives, Britons will have to endure a mix of heavy rain, sunshine, and showers.

Next Weekend Looks Promising

Temperatures could hit 20C in Manchester next weekend, according to Met Office forecasters. But the lead-up to the weekend will see spells of heavy rain from Monday to Thursday, with a blend of sunshine and showers. Met Office forecaster Craig Snell explained that the weather is expected to settle by the weekend and 'could potentially feel markedly warmer'.

Mr Snell said: 'There are hints as we go into the weekend we may well see a slight warming up. It's hinting at 24C for London on Saturday, at least into the low 20s, maybe mid-20s across the South East.'

Weekly Weather Breakdown

A band of rain will spread east on Monday, followed by sunshine and scattered showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will see another band of rain move across the country during the day, while Friday will bring sunshine and showers. By the weekend, higher pressure will build over the south, but it may take longer for conditions to settle in the north.

The Met Office forecast for Manchester on Saturday is cloudy with temperatures reaching 20C. 'After quite a bit of a changeable week with some potential cold periods, when it settles down even 24C, 25C could potentially feel markedly warmer,' Mr Snell added.

Temperature Ranges

During the working week, temperatures will range between 17C and 18C in the south and 15C to 16C in the north. Over the weekend, the south is expected to see low 20s, with the potential for 24C or 25C in the South East, while the north will experience high teens. The Met Office will monitor the bands of rain arriving on Monday and Thursday but currently does not expect to issue any weather warnings.
