Ruben Amorim Agrees to Become Milan Head Coach, Boosting Man United Finances
Amorim to Milan: Man United Finances Boosted

Ruben Amorim is set to return to management after agreeing to become Milan's head coach, a move that will significantly reduce Manchester United's financial obligations following his dismissal in January.

Amorim to Replace Allegri at San Siro

The Portuguese manager will take over from Massimiliano Allegri at Milan, signing a two-year contract with an option for a third season. His primary task will be to revitalize the club after they finished fifth in Serie A, missing out on Champions League qualification.

Once Amorim secures his new role, Manchester United will no longer be required to pay the full £16.7 million compensation package that the 41-year-old and his coaching staff were entitled to under their severance agreement.

Milan's Backroom Overhaul

Milan has undergone significant changes in their backroom staff following their failure to qualify for the Champions League. Sporting director Igli Tare, chief executive Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada have all left the club alongside Allegri. Nottingham Forest's head of recruitment, Pedro Ferreira, is being targeted to join his compatriot Amorim at Milan as part of a major restructuring.

Manchester United's Financial Boost

United's finances have received an additional boost with the announcement that the club will feature in an Amazon All or Nothing documentary next season. Negotiations for the documentary were conducted during Amorim's tenure, but it was decided that the time was not right then. Now, the club has agreed to grant access to filmmakers, following in the footsteps of Manchester City and Tottenham.

The club will receive an access fee larger than any previously paid for documentaries in this genre. Cameras will be present from the start of pre-season, focusing on the men's team under Michael Carrick, as well as the women's and academy setups.

Manchester United's chief communications officer, Toby Craig, stated: "Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people."
