Tottenham Hotspur are looking to rebuild their midfield this summer, with manager Roberto De Zerbi eyeing a reunion with former Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine World Cup winner, who cost Liverpool £35 million, had a disappointing season at Anfield and could be available for the right price.
De Zerbi is also targeting Manchester City's Nico Gonzalez, valued at £50 million, who may be allowed to leave if Elliot Anderson signs from Nottingham Forest. The duo, combined with James Maddison, would form a formidable midfield trio in De Zerbi's preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.
Another option is Brighton's Carlos Baleba, who could add physicality to the midfield. De Zerbi previously worked with Baleba at the Amex Stadium. Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney is also on the radar, with several Premier League clubs interested.
Spurs fans are optimistic after a turbulent season that saw the club narrowly avoid relegation. De Zerbi's arrival has brought hope, and a strong transfer window could further boost confidence ahead of the new campaign.
