Tom Heaton Signs New One-Year Contract with Manchester United

Manchester United have confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract, extending his stay at Old Trafford until the summer of 2026.

The 40-year-old, who first joined United's youth system in 2002, has made only three first-team appearances since returning to the club in 2021. However, the club's director of football, Jason Wilcox, emphasised Heaton's off-field contributions, stating: 'Everyone is well aware of the importance of his leadership and professionalism within the group.'

Wilcox highlighted Heaton's role in mentoring young players, particularly new signing Senne Lammens: 'Tom has played a key role in helping to support Senne throughout his first season in the Premier League; his constant dedication and mentality set a fantastic standard for our goalkeeping group.'
