Arsenal Miss Out On Record Champions League Prize Money

Arsenal have banked a record £141.18 million in Champions League prize money this season, despite losing the final on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest. The Gunners, who were beaten 4-3 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw, received an additional £16 million as runners-up, taking their total beyond the previous record of £124.62 million set by PSG last year.

Mikel Arteta's side had already accumulated around £125.18 million before the final, thanks to a remarkable campaign that included winning all eight league phase matches. That perfect record earned them £15.8 million, while topping the table secured an extra £8.6 million and a direct passage to the last 16, worth £11.3 million.

In the knockout stages, Arsenal defeated Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 (£10.8 million), Sporting CP in the quarter-finals (£10.8 million), and Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals (£10.8 million). Each victory added to their prize money, with the semi-final triumph also securing their place in the final, which alone was worth £15.97 million.

The total prize pot for this season's Champions League was a record £2.13 billion, with Arsenal's haul including £49.6 million from the initial TV money and rankings pool. Despite the heartbreak of defeat, the club's financial reward underscores their impressive run to the final for the first time since 2006.
