Woman Leaves Bar Without Paying, Gets Confronted 3 Years Later
Woman Confronted 3 Years After Leaving Bar Without Paying

A woman who left a bar without settling her tab received an unexpected surprise when she revisited the same establishment three years on, discovering the proprietor hadn't forgotten her. The episode has become a viral sensation across Spain courtesy of the widely-followed account Soy Camarero - meaning 'I'm a waiter' in English - and has been circulated extensively.

The account recounts the tale of a woman who posted a scathing review of a bar for a rather peculiar reason, before it emerged she had failed to pay her bill three years previously. They detailed how she would arrive at the bar on her scooter and order a beer, which the establishment had to charge for upfront due to her habit of leaving without settling up, reports the Express.

They stated: "There was a woman who used to come on her scooter and drink beer, and we had to charge her straight away because she always left without paying." One day she came in for a meal, ordered everything, and, in a moment of distraction, hopped on her scooter and vanished for three years.

They continued: "My boss, when he saw her having a drink in a neighbouring bar, went to ask her for the money. She never gave an explanation for her situation, nor did she make any attempt to ask for the favour of eating and paying later or in instalments (something we've done before with other customers)."

After the confrontation, the bar owner tried to finally secure payment from the woman for the meal she'd consumed years earlier. Her response? She chose to post a negative review. Spanish publication Marca reported that the woman had used her review to make clear she would have acted very differently, taking aim at the establishment in the process.

She wrote: "Honestly, I think that charging me for some spaghetti from three years ago, a day when I didn't have enough money for a meal for whatever reason, says a lot about the sort of people who run this bar. It's my fault, but I've helped a lot of people too, and I'd never go and charge them for a meal they had three years ago. What I'm saying is that they're not good people at all; they're neither empathetic nor considerate of people who might be struggling. That's all."

Alongside her scathing review, she awarded the restaurant a modest three out of five for food, three out of five for service, and three out of five for the atmosphere.
