Costco has issued an urgent product recall for two of its popular pre-packaged food items, warning customers of a potential plastic contamination risk. The wholesale giant, in conjunction with its supplier Venture Foods, is pulling a Caesar Salad and a Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad from circulation.
Details of the Recalled Products
The recall was initiated after the discovery of a possible presence of plastic foreign material in the salad dressing used for these items. Customers are advised to immediately check their refrigerators for the affected products.
The Caesar Salad can be identified by Item Number 19927, while the Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad carries Item Number 11444. Both products have Sell By Dates ranging from October 17, 2025, to November 9, 2025.
Costco has urged all customers who have purchased these items not to consume them. Instead, shoppers should return the products to their local Costco warehouse to receive a full refund. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to contact Costco's customer service team directly.
A Pattern of Recent Recalls
This food safety alert marks the latest in a series of recalls issued by Costco this year. Just earlier this month, the retailer recalled over 940,000 bottles of its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene.
That recall was initiated due to risks of the glass bottles shattering, potentially causing lacerations to consumers. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, at least ten customers reported incidents of breaking bottles, with one person confirmed to have been injured.
The universal product code for the affected Prosecco was 196633883742, with a Costco item number of 1879870. Notably, this was the second recall for the same Prosecco product, following an initial warning in September.
Other Notable Costco Recalls
In September, Costco also faced a separate food safety issue with its Kirkland brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke. The product was recalled over potential Listeria contamination linked to green onions, affecting approximately 3,314.7 pounds of the item.
The contaminated poke had item number 17193 and a sell-by date of September 22. Listeria monocytogenes infections can pose serious health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups.
As the Costco recall list grows, consumers are reminded to remain vigilant about product safety notices and to act promptly when recalls are announced to ensure their wellbeing.
