An impressive 14 counties are forecast to see temperatures above 25C, stretching from Lincolnshire in the Midlands down to Hampshire in the south. The counties expected to experience these warm conditions include:

London is predicted to be the hottest area in the UK, with temperatures reaching 30C by 6pm on June 23. Other hot spots include East Sussex, Kent, and Cambridgeshire, where temperatures will also climb significantly.

Met Office Forecast for June 16-25

The Met Office has also issued its forecast for the period from June 16 to 25. It states: "A changeable period is likely through the middle of next week with outbreaks of rain focused across the north and northwest, some of which could spread to parts of the south and southeast at times. Some strong winds could accompany this, although with temperatures generally above normal."

Looking ahead to the following weekend, the Met Office adds: "High pressure will probably become more dominant with conditions turning more widely dry and settled, and probably very warm for many, especially in the south."
