UK Weather: 33C Heat Surge Forecast for June in 18 Counties

A new spell of scorching hot weather is set to blast the UK, with balmy highs of 33C forecast. According to the latest weather projections, 18 UK counties will bask in temperatures of 30C and above in under two weeks' time.

In recent weeks, the UK has shifted from record-breaking spring heat in May to cooler conditions and periods of heavy rain. However, the hot weather is making a dramatic comeback as NetWeather maps for Saturday, June 20, have turned a scorching red, indicating that Brits will need to dust off their sunhats and sunglasses.

Hottest Regions

Weather maps for 6pm show that the South East of England will bask in the hottest temperatures, with Surrey to see the mercury surge to 33C. Surrounding counties, including Greater London, East Sussex, Kent and Hampshire, will also have temperatures hover between a glorious 31C and 32C.

Highs of 31C are forecast for those in Wiltshire, Hertfordshire, Dorset and Gloucestershire. Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire will also bask in similar highs.

Cooler but Still Warm

Devon, Cornwall and South Wales will see slightly cooler weather, but temperatures will still hover at around the 29C mark. It will be a degree cooler in west Wales, whilst north Wales will see temperatures hit 27C.

The heat is also expected to extend across much of East Anglia and parts of the Midlands. Temperatures here will hover between 27C and 29C. Northern England and Scotland will see highs of 25C. However, those in Tayside will only see the temperature gauge climb to 19C.

Sunday Forecast

By 6pm on Sunday, June 21, the weather will have cooled ever so slightly with highs of 31C forecast. Surrey will once again see the hottest weather, whilst Hampshire and Berkshire will hit 30C. Highs of 26C are predicted for East Anglia, whilst the Midlands and Yorkshire, and the Humber could hit 27C. Devon and Cornwall will have cooled significantly to 21C.

In Wales, the north will bask in the warmest weather of around 24C whilst the south is forecast 19C. The Scottish Highlands could hit a warm 26C, whilst the western parts of Scotland will be around 23C.
