South Park Fortnite Collab: Release Date, All Skins & 5-Player Squads Revealed
South Park Fortnite Collab: Release Date & All Skins

Epic Games has officially confirmed one of Fortnite's most anticipated crossovers, bringing the anarchic world of South Park to the battle royale island. The collaboration, teased earlier this week, is set to introduce a suite of new cosmetics, gameplay items, and a landmark change to squad sizes.

South Park x Fortnite Release Date and Details

The event kicks off on January 9, 2025, at 4 PM PT. For players in the UK, this translates to a midnight start on January 10th. While the late launch is a slight disappointment for British fans, it sets the stage for a full weekend of chaotic fun. The entire collaboration will be available for a limited time, concluding on February 5, 2026.

The announcement was made via a trailer on Epic Games' social channels, showing Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Butters playing Fortnite before being transported into the game by Butters wielding the mythical Stick of Truth.

All New South Park Skins and Cosmetics

The Item Shop will be stocked with a quintet of new outfits based on the show's core characters. Each of the following Mech Skins is expected to cost 1,500 V-Bucks:

  • Stan (Mech Skin)
  • Kyle (Mech Skin)
  • Kenny (Mech Skin)
  • Cartman (Mech Skin)

Butters will also join the fray as his alter-ego, Professor Chaos. Furthermore, the iconic and perpetually stoned character Towelie will be available as a Back Bling or Sidekick for 1,200 V-Bucks. A comprehensive South Park bundle is also anticipated, likely priced between 3,200 and 3,800 V-Bucks.

Major Gameplay Changes and New Features

This crossover is more than just cosmetic. Significant gameplay alterations are coming to Chapter 7 for the event's duration. The existing Wonkeeland Point of Interest (POI) will be transformed into Cartmanland.

New items include the Cheesy Poofs consumable, which grants a small health boost and a temporary speed increase. The Stick of Truth, featured prominently in the trailer, is expected to appear as a powerful Mythic item, with rumours suggesting it may allow players to influence the storm's movement.

The most groundbreaking change, however, is to team dynamics. For the first time in Fortnite's history, players will be able to form squads of five. This new 'Quints' mode will be selectable from the lobby menu. It remains to be seen if this expanded party size will become a permanent fixture after the event ends on February 5th, but its introduction is a major shift for the game's social gameplay.
