Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players are set for a substantial mid-season injection of fresh content as the highly anticipated Season 1 Reloaded update prepares to deploy. This significant refresh arrives halfway through the current season, packing new battlegrounds, armaments, and limited-time events to reinvigorate the multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame experiences.
Season 1 Reloaded Launch Details and File Size
The update is scheduled to go live across all platforms on Thursday, 8 January 2026. Following the established pattern for Call of Duty updates, players in the UK can expect the refresh to begin at approximately 5 PM GMT. Activision has not indicated any deviation from this standard rollout time.
Players should be prepared for a considerable download. Early reports suggest the Season 1 Reloaded patch could be as large as 174GB, though the final size will vary depending on individual platform and how many previous Call of Duty titles are installed on the system. Unfortunately, a pre-load option does not appear to be available, meaning a wait for the download to complete is inevitable once the update becomes available.
New Maps, Mode, and Weapons
The core multiplayer offering receives a major boost with three new 6v6 maps. The fresh locales include Yakei and Meltdown, alongside the returning fan-favourite Fringe from Black Ops 3. Notably, Yakei will also support 2v2 gameplay modes.
A brand-new game mode, Takeover, also joins the playlist. Described as a hybrid of Domination and Hardpoint, it features three objective points that rotate to different locations on the map throughout the match, demanding constant tactical adaptation from teams.
The arsenal expands with two new firearms: the Hawker HX Sniper Rifle and the Sturmwolf 45 SMG. Both will be unlockable by completing seasonal event challenges. Furthermore, three new weapon attachments—the Coda 9 Adaptive Discharge Mod, the M8A1 Full Auto Conversion, and the MCP-25 Contrabloom Laser—will be earnable through a series of weekly challenges.
Zombies, Endgame & The Fallout Crossover
Zombies mode enthusiasts haven't been forgotten. Season 1 Reloaded introduces a Directed Mode for the Astra Malorum map, offering a more guided story experience. Additionally, a new survival map, Zarya Cosmodrome, will provide a fresh challenge for squad-based players.
The replayable Campaign mode, Endgame, receives new content in the form of the Wraith Ring World Event and the Phantom Skill Track, designed to lure players back for more narrative-driven action.
True to form, Black Ops 7 will host a major crossover event, this time tying into the popular Fallout television series. A teaser posted on social media platform X hinted at in-game character models for Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus. These crossover items are expected to appear in the in-game store shortly after the update goes live on January 8.
