Supermarket chain Iceland has announced a Christmas competition offering £5,000 in vouchers, with 10 winners each receiving a £500 voucher to spend on festive food. The giveaway is run exclusively on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram.
Participants are invited to submit videos of themselves performing their best impression of Slade frontman Noddy Holder delivering his iconic line “It’sss Chriiisssstmas!” from the 1973 hit “Merry Xmas Everybody.” Holder appears in Iceland’s Christmas advert and has teamed up with the supermarket for the promotion.
To enter, users must post their video on TikTok or Instagram using the hashtag #LandOfItsChristmas by Tuesday, December 20. Creativity and passion are encouraged to stand out. The 10 best entries will win a £500 voucher, which can be combined with other Iceland cost-saving deals.
Holder’s wife Suzan Price revealed in a column that he still wakes her every Christmas Day by shouting “It’s Christmas!” and noted the song will be 50 years old next year, calling it “as much a part of Christmas as crackers and cranberry sauce.”
