Keane Slams 'Frightened' Man Utd After Costly West Ham Draw
Keane: Man Utd 'frightened' in West Ham draw

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has launched a furious tirade against his former club, accusing them of being 'frightened' to seize their opportunities after a dismal draw with West Ham United.

Keane's Scathing Assessment of United's 'Desperate' Form

The 54-year-old pundit did not hold back in his criticism following Thursday night's match at Old Trafford, where United let a one-goal lead slip against the relegation-threatened Hammers. Keane expressed his profound disappointment with a team he believes consistently fails to show a clinical edge.

'Every time I watch this United team they just disappoint me,' Keane stated. 'They weren't clinical, they weren't nasty enough to get the job done. After getting the goal against a team who are in the bottom three... United just took their foot off the gas.'

A Missed Opportunity in the Premier League Table

The result represented a significant missed chance in the tightly-packed Premier League. A victory would have propelled Erik ten Hag's side into fifth place, but instead, they dropped two precious home points.

'If they'd won they'd have gone fifth,' Keane emphasised. 'There'll be a lot of frustration again tonight. I think the standard of United's play in the last three or four games has been desperate. Really, really poor. Again tonight they seemed frightened to get the job done. Frightened to go up to fifth.'

He pointedly added: 'My goodness, we're talking about fifth here by the way, not the top of the league. Same old problems.'

Neville Joins Criticism as United's Home Woes Continue

Fellow Sky Sports pundit and former United captain Gary Neville echoed the frustrations, highlighting the team's poor recent record at Old Trafford. United have now taken just one point from their last two home games, against Everton and West Ham.

'There's real frustration that they keep having these opportunities,' Neville said. 'You can see the disappointment on the faces of the Manchester United players. But they haven't played well enough, they've let games drift. There's not anywhere enough urgency in the game.'

Neville also noted the visible reaction of the club's new leadership, including incoming CEO Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox. 'They know it's not good enough,' he concluded.

While Keane conceded that West Ham 'just about deserved the equaliser' for their persistence, his core message was a damning indictment of United's mentality and quality, leaving fans and pundits alike questioning the team's direction.
