Amario Cozier-Duberry: Bolton's Loan Star Wins Double Player of Month
Cozier-Duberry Shines at Bolton with Double Award

From Arsenal Academy to Bolton Brilliance

Amario Cozier-Duberry is making waves in League One, with the Bolton Wanderers loanee's exceptional October performances earning him a remarkable double honour. The 19-year-old Brighton attacker secured both the EFL Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month awards, capping a stunning period that has seen him become one of the division's most exciting prospects.

Spectacular Stats and Signature Moves

The talented winger has already amassed an impressive seven goals and seven assists this season, showcasing the form that made him so highly regarded during his time at Arsenal's academy. His standout moment came last month with a match-winning goal against Cardiff City, demonstrating his trademark move of cutting inside onto his left foot.

"Cutting inside on my left foot and finishing on my left foot is something I've always worked on," Cozier-Duberry told Mirror Football. "The more you get to practice in more realistic situations like in training the better it gets. To then see that then come off in games is really good."

Choosing His Pathway to Success

The young attacker's journey took a significant turn in the summer of 2024 when he made the difficult decision to leave his boyhood club Arsenal for Brighton. Previously compared to Bukayo Saka by Jack Wilshere, Cozier-Duberry recognized that Saka's established presence on Arsenal's right flank limited his opportunities.

"I think it was more of a pathway thing for me," Cozier-Duberry explained. "Brighton's history is amazing with a lot of young players getting chances. I felt at the time that it made sense to go to Brighton, get experience on loan and then come back and hopefully see if the pathway is there for me."

His current spell at Bolton represents a significant improvement on last season's loan at Blackburn Rovers, where he found himself in and out of the team. "I just took [that spell] as a learning curve," he reflected. "I gained so much experience from being in and around the men's department for my first time."

Despite speculation about a potential mid-season recall, both Brighton and the player himself are content with his progress at Bolton. Cozier-Duberry has expressed his desire to achieve something meaningful with the club this season, stating: "It would be amazing to achieve something here this season. I think it's definitely possible. It would be good for me, good for the team and good for Bolton as a whole."
