Estêvão Willian produced a stunning solo goal as Chelsea beat 10-man Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, outshining teenage rival Lamine Yamal in a statement Champions League performance. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who joined from Palmeiras for £52m last summer, scored his fourth goal in four starts with a mesmerising run and fierce right-footed strike that drew comparisons to Lionel Messi.
Enzo Maresca’s side dominated from the outset, with Marc Cucurella effectively neutralising international teammate Yamal. Chelsea took the lead when Jules Koundé turned Pedro Neto’s flick into his own net from a short corner, before Estêvão’s wonder goal doubled the advantage. Barcelona captain Ronald Araújo was sent off just before half-time after receiving a second yellow card for fouling Cucurella.
Moisés Caicedo controlled midfield alongside Enzo Fernández and Reece James, while Barcelona struggled to create chances. Ferran Torres missed an early opportunity, and Robert Lewandowski was ineffective. Chelsea’s third goal came late on, sealing a comprehensive victory that moves them fifth in the standings. Barcelona, meanwhile, remain on seven points from five games after a disappointing display.
