Tommy Fury Evades Baby Birth Timing Question on Good Morning Britain
Boxer Tommy Fury firmly shut down a probing question about the imminent arrival of his second child during a live appearance on Tuesday's edition of Good Morning Britain. The 26-year-old athlete was grilled by presenters about scheduling a major professional fight merely hours after his partner, influencer Molly-Mae Hague, is due to give birth.
Fight Announcement Amidst Family Expansion
The professional boxer appeared on the popular ITV morning programme alongside British former World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall, aged 38. Together they spoke with hosts Charlotte Hawkins, 50, and Richard Madeley, 69, about their upcoming exhibition match scheduled for June 13th at Manchester's prestigious AO Arena.
Tommy and Molly-Mae, both 26, who already share three-year-old daughter Bambi, publicly announced their second pregnancy back in February. This joyful news came just months after the couple reconciled following a brief separation period. The pair had surprised their substantial fan base by announcing their split in August 2024, only to reunite in May 2025.
Molly-Mae's official due date is confirmed as June 12th, 2026, making the timing of Tommy's scheduled fight particularly conspicuous. Presenter Charlotte Hawkins directly addressed this sensitive scheduling conflict during the live broadcast.
Direct Questioning and Evasive Response
Charlotte pointedly remarked: 'Tommy, I've got to ask you about the timing of this. This fight is due to take place on the 13th of June. The day before that, on the 12th June, that's quite a significant day, isn't it? Molly-Mae is due to give birth to your second child. I just wondered how she is feeling about this? The timing of this?'
Tommy responded somewhat obliquely, stating: 'I just want to say thank you to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with another child on the way. And obviously, that is a family matter and we're dealing with that fantastically, and everything will be perfect. We'll deal with that as a family, thank you.'
Charlotte accepted this response with a simple: 'Good. Well I am glad to hear it.'
Family Concerns and Historical Precedent
Earlier this week, reports emerged indicating that Molly-Mae has reportedly 'put plans in place to protect herself' as she prepares for childbirth. However, family members are said to be concerned that history might be repeating itself after Tommy revealed his plans to fight retired strongman Eddie Hall.
This upcoming bout marks the boxer's first professional fight in over a year, with typical recovery from such clashes potentially taking up to six months depending on sustained injuries. The situation bears uncomfortable similarities to previous family dynamics during Molly-Mae's first pregnancy.
During her initial pregnancy with daughter Bambi, Molly-Mae was medically induced to ensure Tommy could be present for the birth in January 2023, ahead of his scheduled fight with Jake Paul. Following Bambi's arrival, Tommy was absent for the first four weeks of their daughter's life, leaving Molly-Mae to parent alone as he travelled to Saudi Arabia to prepare for his February 26th clash against the YouTuber.
Previous Trauma and Current Determinations
The founder of the Maebe brand previously admitted she felt 'traumatised' from navigating her first month of motherhood in isolation. At just 23 years old at the time, she candidly told followers she didn't sleep for a week after giving birth and 'had a breakdown'. She described the period as like 'hell and back' and revealed that the day Tommy finally returned home felt 'almost better than the day Bambi was born'.
With Tommy once again entering the boxing ring around their child's birth, Molly-Mae is reportedly 'determined not to have the same experience this time'. Her family members are said to be upset that 'nothing has changed' despite the couple's decision to reconcile in May after calling off their engagement in August 2024.
Family Disapproval and External Concerns
Insiders have revealed that Molly-Mae's sister Zoe is particularly unimpressed with Tommy's decision. Zoe previously moved in with Molly to provide assistance after Bambi's birth and has never concealed her disapproval of the boxer's priorities.
A source explained: 'It’s a real shame that once again Tommy is going to be busy throughout the first few weeks and of course it did raise eyebrows with Zoe, who has never been his biggest fan. In lots of ways it feels like nothing has changed and they are back to square one, but Molly knows she can do it alone.'
The source continued: 'Her parents would love her to have a conventional relationship and for Tommy to take paternity leave like other dads do but they know that isn’t going to happen. Everyone is really hoping it doesn’t all fall apart and she has an easier ride than last time.'
When approached for comment by Daily Mail, Molly-Mae's representative respectfully declined to provide any statement regarding the situation.
