The Grand National 2026 takes place on Saturday, with 34 horses and jockeys set to compete in the world's most famous steeplechase. The race, run over four miles and two and a half furlongs at Aintree, offers a £1 million total purse, including £500,000 for the winner.
Defending champion Nick Rockett has been withdrawn, leaving the field open. I Am Maximus, trained by Willie Mullins and winner two years ago, is now the favourite. Other contenders include Grangeclare West, Spanish Harlem, Lecky Watson, and Champ Kiely.
Free-to-air coverage of the Grand National will be on ITV1 and ITVX from 3:15pm. The full Aintree Festival, running from Thursday to Saturday, is also broadcast on ITV. Viewers can live stream via ITVX on laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
The last two races on Thursday and Friday, plus Saturday's final race, are available on Racing.tv. Since 1839, the Grand National has attracted millions of viewers worldwide.
